Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in Saudi Arabia: Day 3.

On their last day in Saudi Arabia, the Crown Prince Couple visited King Abdullah's Financial District, which is a new economic quarter in Riyadh and which the architectural firm Henning Larsen Architects stands behind. The Crown Prince Couple got a tour around the building site. The health minister and the business and growth minister also took part.

After the visit, the Couple split, Crown Prince Frederik and the minister for business and growth visited the King Abdullah Center for Science and Technology, which is an independent scientific organization. During the visit, The Crown Prince was be told about the challenges Saudi Arabia faces in the energy and environment sector.

Meanwhile, Crown Princess Mary and the health minister visited a playground and fitness area belonging to the Danish company Kompan. During the visit, The Crown Princess was shown various play and activity installations.

Afterwards, the Crown Prince Couple took part in a business luncheon at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Then, along with the health minister and the business and growth minister, the couple participated in the opening of an event put on by the Danish institution Mercantec, which devotes itself to offering vocational education programmes. The objective of the event is to create relationships and share experiences so that, in the long term, vocational education programmes can be established in Saudi Arabia.
Later, the Crown Prince Couple, together with the health minister, visited the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, which is one of Saudi Arabia’s leading hospitals in the area of research.
Crown Princess Mary and the health minister visited the King Khalid Foundation afterwards, which is a Saudi charitable organization led by Princess Banderi bint Abdulrahman AlFaisal. The organization’s work focuses particularly on violence against women and children as well as combatting poverty.

To mark the ending of they staying in Saudi Arabia before leaving to Qatar, the Crown Prince Couple took part in a farewell reception at the Danish ambassador’s residence. The reception focused on Danish design, and both Danish and Saudi business guests participated.
